The year-end is a time to celebrate a year passed, and reflect on the ups and downs along the way. It gives team members time to discuss where they have come from to where they are heading. Employees bond over difficulties their organisation has overcome and the achievements that everyone collectively worked towards. To embrace the year end, the Lesotho Electricity and Water Authority (LEWA)’s annual Christmas party was held on 16 December, 2022 at Avani-Maseru.

In his opening remarks, acting Chief Executive, Mr. Paseka Khetsi encouraged employees to introspect and face the new year with oneness, love and peace. On the one hand, he highlighted some of the achievements including the realisation of reviewed terms of employment which caused transition of all employees below executive management from contract to permanent. On the other hand, Mr. Khetsi expressed with sadness the loss of one of our own, Mr. Thuso Ntlama who was called to glory in May 2022.

‘‘Continuous engagement with one another is important as was witnessed during the LEWA team-building session at Ha-Mohale, and sharing of highs and lows as they happen is the glue that keeps a team strong. Nonetheless, don’t forget the value of a year-end party, lets toast to our achievements, appreciate all efforts and enjoy’’ said Mr. Khetsi

The party was graced by the presence of one enthusiastic comedian known as ‘Makhubelu, whose performance made LEWA employees laugh their lungs out. Nourishing food and drinks were served and all danced their way into the Christmas season and a new year.
