The Lesotho Electricity and Water Authority’s (LEWA) staff bade farewell to its former Manager-Technical Regulation Water, Ms. Khahiso Kanetsi at the Authority’s conference room on 30 June, 2023.
After six months of leading the Technical Regulation Water Department, Ms. Kanetsi left LEWA to take up on a new challenge else where.
Ms. Kay, as she was affectionately known by her colleagues, said she was grateful for the opportunity to have worked with such a dedicated and talented group of people who contributed to the regulation of urban water and sewerage services in the country. She strongly said as an engineer, she loved every bit of it. She went on to say that she was now looking forward to applying her knowledge and skills in a different context and learn from new experiences to become a qualified Professional Engineer.

“I have always been passionate about engineering and I am excited to take on this new challenge. I hope to stay in touch with my former colleagues and friends and continue supporting the water regulation team in any way I can,” Ms Kanetsi said.
Ms Kanetsi’s colleagues praised her for professionalism, expertise and leadership skills.
“Miss Kay is a people’s person whose character brightened everyone’s day. However, I will forever hold on to the good times we shared here at work and outside,” said Ms. Mathandiwe Bohale, the LEWA’s Receptionist.

“She fostered a culture of collaboration and excellence. We will miss her greatly and we wish her all the best in her future endeavours,” said Mr. Lira Sekantsi, the Manager-Economic Regulation Department.
“Her ingenuity and dedication has left an indelible mark on the LEWA team. Throughout her tenure, Ms Kanetsi has consistently displayed a deep understanding of technical concepts and an unwavering commitment to excellence.”
The Chief Executive, Mr. Motlatsi Ramafole, said that Ms. Kanetsi embodied what LEWA needs to be, saying that her passion for work and thirst to engage in other Departments’ work and activities were remarkable. Ms Kanetsi will therefore be forever remembered, he said.
